Getting Inked
A very random topic for todays post, but it's something that's been on my mind a lot lately. This picture is of my sister, showcasing her beautiful tattoo on her foot. Tattoos can be amazing pieces of art the same way makeup can be, in which your body is the canvas. It's truly incredible when you think about it. However, I think it is extremely important to really think about what you want to get before you go and get it, instead of randomly getting a tattoo on the spot. Your probably either thinking "well duh" or "that's stupid I'll do whatever I want", and I understand that. But when you consider what others may view you as when they see whats on your body, your mind may be changed. Of course we shouldn't judge anybody by their looks but it truly is human nature to have an automatic opinion of someone when you first see them. Also, professional settings should come to mind when considering getting a tattoo, how do you want an interviewer to see you? You can avoid that by where you place your tattoo, how you present yourself and even how you dress.
This has all been pretty serious so far, but I promise I have more to say on the topic.
Yes you should consider what other people will think when you get your tattoo but only to a certain extent. If you have something you are passionate about, that you would love to get inked, then I say go for it. Don't let anyone who doesn't understand your love of that topic tell you that it's stupid or you'll regret getting it tattooed on you. For example, I am extremely passionate about the Harry Potter series, and I plan to get a tattoo dedicated to it in a few years time. You may guess the reaction my parents have to this idea. But my sister (who has 2 tattoos and plans for more) sat me down and told me that if something means a lot to you and is a big part of who you are then no one should stop you from expressing your love for it on your body. And that's the main lesson I wanted to share with you today. Of course we should think carefully before getting inked but we should also express who we are and what we love through the art that is tattoos!
What tattoos do you have or plan to get? Let us know in the comments below!
Thanks for reading! Have a lovely day :)
