Trend Alert: Sheer Dresses

Am I late to jump on the bandwagon again? Maybe, but I'm no less ecstatic to try out this trend that has been circling the runways followed by the sidewalks for the past few months. Everywhere from iconic houses like Valentino and Dior to new comers like Molly Goddard, we've seen lighter than air fabrics floating over the silhouette creating these wispy, air like looks. 

Sheer dresses are an over-the-top accessory of sorts as they don't provide any conservative purposes, but merely add something feminine and trendy to any look. When I say any look, I truly mean any look. Though they may fall under the trend category, these statement pieces are surprisingly versatile. Play up the girly factor by layering your sheer dress over floral patterns and light wash denim or go the more emeroo suited route by toying with contrast. A piece so flirty and fun works perfectly throw nonchalantly over a sleek black body suit, ripped denim shorts and sneakers. Swap the sneakers for combat boots and you've hit street style gold. For something that blends in so seamlessly, these dresses have an impact of epic proportions when styled over any look.
