For the last seven episodes of this podcast, I've left recording sessions feeling satisfied, but due to nerves, consequently exhausted. You can imagine, then, how refreshingly confused I was when I remained a bubbly, energetic version of myself for hours after recording this episode. Never have I been so authentically myself in any of my episodes and that is due to the simple fact that Eli, Nolan and Aidan from the band daysormay are thoughtful, curious, easy-going guys. Although, I don't think I've ever talked at such a rapid pace in my life. I'm blaming this on the fact that there was an infinite amount of topics I wanted to cover. I felt the perfect balance of fan-girl excitement (I've loved their music for quite some time) and comradery over a discovered shared love of Donald Glover, The 1975, analyzing song lyrics, and so much more. It's not surprising in the slightest that we ended up with a new found sense of friendship and a two and a half hour long recording. In Part one of this two part episode we dive deeply into the band's origins and their experiences touring everywhere from LA, New York, Edmonton and Germany. The secret of their mysterious name change also may or may not be revealed.
