How To Recover From Having Gel Nails

For my birthday this year my lovely sister took me to get gel nails. I had had them once before but these ones were much more heavy duty. My nails looked absolutely gorgeous! They lasted me for 2 weeks before they started falling off, which I think is a pretty good value for the money. However, once I had picked them all off (which apparently your not supposed to do.. oops) my nails were left rough, chipped and quite damaged looking.

Since gel nails are such a popular thing, I thought I would share with you my tips and tricks to help your nails recover.

Along with some filing and light buffing (as my nails were so thin I wouldn't dare buff them to much), these are the two products that basically saved my nails. No, my nails are not perfect, but I believe that using these product 2-3 times a day has helped speed up my nails' recovery and replenish some moisture and nourishment.

First is this Seacret cuticle oil. I applied this 2 times a day for 4 days and it helped immensely. I applied it to my whole nail with a cotton bud.

Fresh form my Body Shop advent calendar, Dec. 1st doesn't disappoint with this calming, hydrating almond hand and nail cream. This stuff delicately soothes dry hands while providing nourishment to my damaged nails. I simply used this in replace of my normal hand cream for 5 days.

Thanks so much for reading, goo luck with your nails and have a great day!
