Going on a winter getaway? Other then the obvious (shampoo, deodorant, toothbrush, etc) these are my essentials when heading for some fun time on the hill.
Skin Care
Intensive lib balm (Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream):
What with the wind and cold winter air, your lips will need some major hydrating.
Simple facial cleanser (Fresh Soy Face Cleanser):
When up on the hill, you'll need a gentle, simple face cleanser so that your skin is clean but not irritated.
Acne Cream (La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo):
For me, this is an essential wherever I go, you never know when a spot will suddenly appear.
Regular moisturizer for night time and SPF moisturizer for day time (Sephora instant moisturizer and Elizabeth Arden SPF 15 face cream):
Along with your regular moisturizer, to save your dehydrated skin at night time, I highly recommend bringing another one for the morning that has SPF in it. People don't normally realize how at risk they are of a sunburn on the ski hill, with the bright sun beating down on the hill and the rays reflecting off the snow, it's smart to protect yourself.
Other Cosmetics
Dry Shampoo (Dove Refresh and care dry shampoo):
Sometimes when you've been skiing all day, your to tired to have a long shower before you go out to dinner or skating with your friends. Dry shampoo will help to pull away the grease in your hair plus make it look more voluminous and refreshed, perfect after having your hair stuffed in a helmet or hat all day.
Hand Cream (Lush Charity Pot):
When it's winter time you'll want a super moisturizing hand cream so your hands don't get chapped or cracked. I love this one from Lush because it's very rich and nourishing plus it has a wonderfully warm, wintery scent. Wintery Scent (Bath and Body Works Cashmere Glow body fragrance mist):
After a sweaty day on the ski hill, it's nice to freshen up with a warm wintery scent, perfect before you go skating with a cute boy.
Random Essentials
A good book (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince):
This may not be an essential for everyone, but for me, I need a good book to cuddle up with after a long, cold day.
A Warm Hat (grey Neff tuque):
This is a must on a cold, winter day. It not only protects your ears from the cold air, but they look absolutely adorable.
Fuzzy Socks:
There's nothing better then putting on a pair of fuzzy, warm socks and warming up by a fire place after a long day in the cold.
So whether you're heading for a weekend getaway or a vacation to a ski resort, make sure to pack the essentials!
Thanks so much for reading and have a great day!
