Desert Chic, Delectableness and Penthouse Worthy Decour

What an amazingly hot few days I've had. Looking back on these photos I can't believe that I wore my hair down. I am impressed with myself at the moment. Putting that aside, I hope you enjoy a little peak into my desert vacation!

The thing that always excites me most about traveling to a different country is all the things that you can't find in Canada. Obviously we have Starbucks in Canada (nice one Emily) but what we DON'T have are these amazing s'mores tarts. The best way I can describe this is to just picture the emoji of the monkey covering his eyes.

By the way, that "Einstein Bros" cup you see right there, best caramel macchiatto I've ever had!

For all my pre-planned outfits of the trip I aimed for a desert-chic look, inspired by Nicole Kidman's "Queen of the Desert" shoot from Augusts Vogue. Think earthy tones (to blend with the cactus covered surroundings of Arizona) along side antique lace and pleating, with the occasional burst of colour for the summer time.

So far the food here has been amazing! Even with my very small apatite (I blame it on the heat) I've been able to try some pretty tasty bites. My favorites have been the sliders from a great pub called The Thirsty Lion, flat bread and killer milkshakes from The Village Tavern (an old family favorite), and the pizza from Oregano's. Oregano's reminds me of my favorite restaurant I went to in Italy. The whole place is decorated in green and red, think more Italian spirit, not Christmas party. I would definitely recommend all of these local treasures if your venturing down to Phoenix any time soon.

Restoration Hardware was probably the most spectacular home wear store I've ever been in. It doesn't feel like a store at all, more like a rich friends house that you just get to wander around, snooping in the luxurious bedrooms and super glam bathrooms. Everything is Manhattan penthouse worthy!

I hope you're all having a wonderful summer and that it's not to unbearably hot wherever you are!

Thanks for reading.
