 The holiday season has come and gone but that doesn't mean we can't continue rocking everyone's makeup favorite... Red lips.

There are endless variations of this bold lip choice. Everything from deep berry reds (for a more vampy evening look) to girly, cherry reds to bright orange reds, perfect for spring and summer. Red is a staple colour that everyone needs in their collection. A classic red lip has been made iconic, and will never go out of style. For this reason, it's important to know which reds are the best of the best. Here are my top 6 red lip colours.

Quite an indulgent purchase, yet justifiable due to this incredible colour! A prefect orange toned red that glides on like butter, completely opaque but with a slight sheen.

 

Rimmel "Alarm"/107

A slightly cheaper option but no less beautiful. The most worn of all these reds due to its classic colour. No funny undertones with this one, it's simply the red of all reds.

Nars "Cruella"

No doubt you've heard every girl, along with her mom, her aunt, her grandma, her neighbor and her dog, talk about this Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil. I can confidently state that the word "velvet" is very fitting. This pencil packs a serious punch of pigment and even though it's matte, you're lips don't feel dry in the least. Being a more berry toned, darker red, it is perfect for the autumn (but I'll be wearing it all year round for sure).  

 

Mary Kay "Red"

This lipstick certainly makes me the most nostalgic, since I've been obsessed with it for years now. I'm thinking back and I'm certain that I talked about this lipstick in a super old blog post. Back when I had hardly a clue what I was talking about. None the less, this lipstick is still a favorite of mine, it's a dark red with a slight gold shimmer running through it. Perfect for party season. 

 

 

NYX "Plush Red"

The delicious cherry scent of this gloss fits perfectly with its cherry red shade. It gives a reflective, plump effect to the lips not to mention that it is a complete bargain. Need I say anymore?

 

MAC "Lady Danger"

24 hours later and you will STILL have this gorgeous orange-red colour on your lips. A completely matte finish promises total opacity and incredibly vibrant colour. You can never go wrong with MAC lipsticks am I right?
