When summer comes, along comes summer weddings. A time for a celebration of love and family while also being a perfect opportunity to try new unique summer trends. For this formal Italian wedding, I was determined to find a look that was inspired by the latest Dolce and Gabbana collection, "Italia Is Love". This gorgeous collection is perfectly suited to summer, with its use of bright colours, bold florals and graphic prints of the Tuscan country side. While this collection was rich with structured tea dresses and intricate patterns, the on-going trend of pajama inspired dressing was prominent, something I found to be bold but also very intriguing. When I spotted this co-ord on ASOS, I instantly new this was the perfect wedding outfit for me. Not only was it ideally reminiscent of the D&G collection, but I knew I would stand out among the sea of women in pretty dresses.
My themes for this look were flirty, girly and elegant. Contrary to my go to makeup and hair look of a fresh face with a bold lip paired with a slick low knotted bun with a middle part, I went for something softer and more romantic. With soft curls framing the face and a smudgy brown smoky eye, I felt perfectly put together while giving off an airy, effortless aesthetic.
I'm in no way saying to avoid wearing dresses to your summer weddings. I merely mean to inspire, and open your eyes to new possibilities. The next time you receive and invitation, think about branching out in your wedding attire, instead of heading straight to the back of your closet where your perfect wedding guest dress is waiting.
Now, without further ado, here is my take on wedding style for this summer.
Enjoy.
Thanks for reading.
