Even though the making of this post was an absolute disaster, I'm going to choose to look at my high stress levels as an opportunity for realism. Blogging and social media enables you to make your life seem perfect. Well, my life isn't perfect and sometimes (actually, a lot of the time, not that I'm complaining) things go very wrong. The same rings true for any party, social gathering or shindig you may be hosting or attending. There are sure to be plenty of those coming up in the next few weeks. Tis the season, so despite all the mayhem that could ensue, you'll be totally prepared outfit wise. Here is my go to party look for the holiday season. It's chic, eye catching and simple. These are the traits to fall back on when life is terribly hectic.
Enjoy.
Keeping things clean was my goal with this look. One can never go wrong with all black in the winter time, but why not throw a shocking pop of crisp white to stir it up? With such a neutral pallet the accessories can really shine, that's why I've gone for some holiday appropriate Guess heels in a shimmering gold leather and a glimmering, sequin covered clutch with gold hardware to tie it all together. As far as silhouette, I've never been much of a dress girl. Everyone has their strong suits, mine just happens to be a... well, suit! I find it hard not to feel bombshell confidence in a structured, oversized blazer (this one is My Sunday Morning), a pair of tailored trousers and some killer heels. If it scares you, experiment at home. Pull out that blazer you only wear for job interviews and a pair of your mom's old work trousers she thought you'd love and have some fun! I promise you, with a look this full proof, you'll have time to spare to focus on socializing, gifting, hosting, flirting, or whatever it is you do at holiday parties.
Happy holidays everyone!
Thanks for reading.
