As we do with drive, creativity and inspiration, I often find myself in fashion ruts. Life is normally compared to a roller coaster, so let's use the same cliche for fashion. I suppose I'm at the start of the ride and desperately waiting to start climbing up. What I need is some style inspiration. Something to spark the fashion blogger inside me. I'm sure you've all been in my position, so I've cultivated my four favorite sources of style inspiration so we can all start climbing up, and hopefully the climb will last longer than the drop.
Apps and Articles
Perhaps the most obvious place to turn when in a style slump are Pinterest, Instagram and other apps that allow you instant access to the world's most fashionable. Personally, when in need for a quick fix, I turn to my "It's a Fashion Life for Me" board on Pinterest, which you can find right here. Besides that, the Vogue Runway app is a perfect source of out of the box ideas and is super useful when trying to reinvent your style. There, you'll find every runway and show room collection from every season. Familiarizing yourself with different designers and the trends that thread in and out of the seasons is a perfect way to keep yourself style engaged and in the know. In fact, Vogue Runway is where I found the original idea behind the outfit in this post!

Icons
It's safe to say that every time I wear my beloved leopard print coat, I'm taking style inspiration from Kate Moss. Pinterest and magazines are perfect places to scout which stars are worthy of the title "style icon". For me, Olivia Polermo and Alexa Chung are always safety nets. I can rely on them for quick doses of chic, trendy or statement. If I'm going more classic I gravitate towards Victoria Beckham. Some fellow bloggers whose style is undoubtedly inspirational would be Victoria Mcgrath and Tamara Kalinic. Whatever your style is currently or what you might like it to become, I'm positive you'll find plenty of ideas from the fashion community.
Go To Stores
From ASOS and TopShop to Net-A-Porter, Moda Operandi and Louisa Via Roma, online retailers are the perfect place to discover what's trending or maybe what's coming back into style (something you might all of a sudden be thankful that you kept). I love going to these cites and heading straight to the "new in" section. It allows me to discover what's appropriate for the season and what colour pallets, aesthetics and silhouettes are of the moment. Use the store to inspire you to take advantage of the clothes you already have rather than to buy something new.
The World Around You
I love finding colours, patterns and shapes in my surroundings. Let the weather's effects push you to match the colours of winter, or rebel against the cold, grey days with bright colours and bold prints. Fashion isn't only a solution for clothing yourself, it should make you feel something. Fun colours can lift a dull spirit and chic neutrals can elevate confidence.

Thanks for reading.
