Spring Style Inspo

Spring has finally come and I'm flooded with new style inspiration and ideas. With the extended Canadian winter we battled this year, I can't explain how excited I am to fold up the sweaters and dive straight into spring fashion. 

Today I have some good old fashioned style inspiration for you. Let me share with you why I love this look so much and why it is perfect for basking in the warm weather. 

Inspired by one of my style icons Jenna Lyons, this look is the most perfect starting point for your spring style this year. Everything we all love about spring is rolled up into one easy look. Who doesn't want to feel girly and lighthearted when wearing a skirt for the first time in forever? With a midi pleated skirt it's like your floating through your day. Tucked into this dreamy skirt you have a simple polo neck top which also provides a muted pop of colour along with a classic denim jacket to combat the possible chill throughout the day.

What makes this look so special is the styling techniques. Subtle details like buttoning only the top button of the jacket and layering a vintage necklace over the polo neck top are such simple ways to make something ordinary into something eye catching. Another way to do that? Wear the most stunning pair of metallic gold mules and you're all set.
