Hair Care For Damaged Hair

Something to note: My roots do NOT look as bad in real life as they do in the following pictures, I promise.

Hola everyone! Having some hair troubles are we? We've all been there. Manes can get tired, broken, and plain out gross. Yet, we don't want to chop it all off ( just get the odd trim here and there). We've worked so hard to grow such luscious locks, and we're frustrated at the serious lack of lusciousness.

Lately this hair predicament has driven me crazy, so I've started a new routine using a whole new regime of products. Since embarking on this quest for good hair, I've discovered my perfect combination of products and techniques. It's everything you'll ever need. This is my holy grail routine that has not only helped me to love my hair once more, but helped it to GROW.

Enjoy.

Shower Time Products

Cowshed Horny Cow High Shine ShampooI love how super sudsy and luxurious this shampoo is. It deeply cleans, and I mean deep, this stuff keeps you grease free for up to five days. Plus, hair is left glistening with shine.

Pantene 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner - This is an intense hydrating conditioner. I have less split ends and found the dry ends of my hair to be softer, stronger and much less frizzy.

L'oreal Everpure Blonde Brass Banisher Shampoo and Conditioner - This stuff has saved my coloured hair. Though I am naturally blonde, my slightly bleached hair needed some toning. After just two uses my blonde was brighter, cleaner and much less brassy and yellow.

Shower Time Routine

I alternate between my two different shampoo/conditioner pairings. I wash my hair twice a week and only wash it under warm water, never boiling hot (which is how the rest of my shower goes). When shampooing, I massage my scalp to stimulate growth, plus it's a nice relaxing treat.

Treatment Products

Oliology Coconut Hair Repair Mask - Perfect for bath time, this mask is a super hydrating treat for your hair.

S Factor Smoothing Lusterizer - This is the most perfect product for frizzy hair (like mine). I like to smooth it over dry hair when the frizz hits. Dry ends are soothed and sprinkled with tiny flecks of shimmer from this gorgeous, strawberries and cream scented product.

Drybar 100 Proof Treatment Oil - I'm constantly changing my loyalty to hair oils. So far I'm really loving this one from Drybar. It's lightweight, non greasy and delivers smoothing, softening hair properties. Has is replaced Moroccan Oil yet? That has yet to be determined. The important thing to note is that having a hair oil is important, and there are tons of good ones out there.

Treatment Routine

I use the hair mask once a week and use the hair oil on damp hair after washing, swimming, hottubbing, or any time my hair has gotten wet. For the Smoothing Lusterizer, I use it in the morning to calm down my hair before starting my day and frequently carry it around with me for on the go touch ups.

Styling Products

Lush No Drought Dry Shampoo - As I've raved about in the past, this stuff is a serious ride or die product for me. It is the anti-grease, and I couldn't live without it.

Co Lab Sheer + Invisible Dry Shampoo - Another incredible dry shampoo, perfect for second or third day hair. It truly is invisible and adds tons of volume.

Lush Sea Spray - This adds wonderfully messy, beachy texture to hair, holds hair in place (it can be used as a light hair spray) and smells amazing.

Not Your Mothers Beach Babe Spray - This stuff basically transforms you into a vanilla scented, beach goddess. Perfect for adding soft texture and body.

Styling Routine

Though I do occasionally whip out my curling wand or flat iron, I tend to take advantage of my naturally wavy hair. With the help of these amazing products, I can add texture, wave and volume to my hair without damaging it with heat. I simply let my hair air dry and go from there. I love wearing a low pony over night and waking up with that seriously cool "I don't have time to fuss around with my hair" look with a kink in your mid lengths and a crooked middle part. When in doubt, throw it is a messy pony tail, pulled apart french braid or half up half down with tons of pieces flying around your face. Cool hair doesn't have to take a ton of effort. Instead, put the work into having enviably healthy hair.

I hope you will all join me on the quest for good hair.

Thanks for reading.
