Like any highly anticipated day of the year, Christmas, Groundhog day, etc, the first Monday in May has come and gone oh so quickly. For those of you that are unfamiliar, the Met Gala is a yearly event celebrating the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Exhibit. Throughout the entire year, the Met Ball is easily the number one place for celebrities, models and fashion's most respected individuals to experiment with their looks, and seriously break some rules.
Some of my favorites from the night were Kate Hudson's white mermaid gown with geometric silver cut outs, Kim and Kanye's beaming ensembles with an accent of denim and Juno Temple's curly up-do matching the airy ruffles on her purple dress.
BUT, what really stood out to me was the select few beauties that were rocking the red carpet in Louis Vuitton. There were quite a few that chose looks from the iconic house. Grimes, Selena Gomez, Michelle Williams and rising fashion icon, Alicia Vikander, all made a statement with their takes on gala dressing. Anyone can step out of the limo in an elegant gown and feel pretty safe that they won't end up on the worst dressed list, but it takes guts to show up in combat boots, a layered lace and metallic mini dress with a cherry red leather bustier (Vikander), a blue shapeless silk slip dress (Grimes) or structured black-navy V-neck with a slight peplum over a tight black mini skirt (Williams). I simply adored Selena's look, with the contrast between her three-quarter length dress' dainty polka dot pattern and slight flare at the bottom with the robust combat boots and her low-cut black leather top.
All these women impressed me with their
daring choices, but what really inspired me for my own personal style
was the combat boots.
Bulky
and tough, these boots help to ground any outfit. I love to pair them
with skirts and dresses, as I've done here. They add an edge to girly
looks that really tickles my fancy. I think they're such an easy,
comfortable way to elevate any look.

Thanks For Reading.
