With summer in full swing there are endless opportunities to experiment with personal style. For me, there are five principle themes that I will be flipping between when it comes to style this summer, and I want to share each of those with you.
It can be way to easy to simply throw on a pair of highwaisted shorts and a crop top once the sun comes out, but with summer comes mingling, meeting new people and going on adventures. Do we really want to spend this free time blending in? Summer is the perfect time to stand out from the crowd, whether that be with your clothes or hair or makeup (check out my last post). Stay tuned here on Emeroo for five different ways that you can elevate your summer style, and stand out amongst a sea of lookalikes.
PART 1: Modern Grunge
The 90's were a revolutionary time for fashion, thanks to things such as 90's grunge and the rise of the super model. It's no surprise that today, when fashion is constantly pulling inspiration from past decades, that the 90's would make a huge come back. Personally, I'm not one for the choker fad, since it has become more mainstream 2016 than 90's reminiscent, but there are plenty of other ways to incorporate the fabulous grunge of the 90's into your modern style.
A plain white tee, distressed denim and a slicked back middle part all fit together in a perfectly undone way. Such basic pieces can be made a statement when thrown together in a haphazard way. To truly own this look means to wear it with an attitude of "I don't care". Only then can the look be transformed from something trendy into an entirely new persona. One of confidence and ease.
To modernize the grunge look, swap the round sunglasses for some aviators, throw on a pair of combat boots and then finish it all off with a bold orange lip. Choose a select few places to do something a little bit daring so that when everything comes together you're left with a effortless, modern version of grunge.
Keep your eyes peeled for the next four parts to Emeroo's Summer Style.
Thanks for reading.
