I hate to break it to you, but we're almost halfway through the summer and that means something special...
Revisiting all our favorite shows and trends from the Fall 2016 ready-to-wear shows and preparing ourselves and our wardrobes for fall.
Ah the memories. Down jackets at Balenciaga, platform boots at Marc Jacobs and surprisingly alluring yellow velvet gowns at Valentino, looking back on the past fashion week I am already filled with nostalgia. Endless amounts of inspiration came from these shows and have stuck with me since. After all, this was when my obsession with pleated skirts began, not to mention the ath-liesure trend, which will soon become a cult classic I have no doubt. Of course, when fall hits I will keep in mind the fond memories I have of Bottega Veneta and Alexander McQueen's collections, both of which I did initial reviews of when they were fresh of the runway. Though, my mindset when these shows were new is very different from my current thoughts on fall style. When watching these exquisite shows for the first time I naturally couldn't wait to see these pieces hit the racks (and of course, their budget friendly dupes). However, now that fall is more than just a distant image, I've began my annual web search for all that I will be needing for the infamous wardrobe update that comes with the falling of leaves and the ringing of school bells. I will try to keep in mind the trends that were planted back in February, but for now I want to share with you what I will personally be searching for.
So, to assist you in your upcoming spending sprees I have for you my official must have shopping list for fall, taken straight from the scribble filled note section of my Kate Spade agenda.
To cater to all your shopping needs, I have linked every item on the list below. Click on one and you will be transported to the magical world of ASOS, where my personal picks and every thing you could ever need await.
Enjoy.
TOPS:
1 Button Up Shirt (either white or blue/white pinstripe)
1 Blouse (your choice of style)
1 Tee (plain or graphic)
1 Sweater (I'm going for a slouchy knit turtle neck)
BOTTOMS:
FULL BODY:
1 Suitable Fall Dress (Shirt dress, maxi dress or sweater dress)
JACKETS:
1 Leather and/or Jean Jacket (I have an infinite supply of these so I will not be purchasing anymore for this fall, but if you do not own a leather or jean jacket you seriously need to sort out your priorities)
SHOES:
1 Pair of Loafers or Other Slip on Shoes
ACCESSORIES:
Soak up the sunshine while you can, but soon you too will be hitting the racks or scrolling the online shops. When that time comes, you'll be prepared. Whether you deem only a few of these pieces as necessities, or wish to cross every single one off the list, I wish you luck.
Thanks for reading.
